My Mission:
In a generation of consumerism and technology, often people forget the importance of the natural environment in daily life. It is my goal to introduce as many people as I can to both the emotional benefits of spending time in nature and the necessity of conserving earth's precious resources. By working with children and others my own age I am altering mindsets, and in that way bringing about real change.

Projects:

I lead a biweekly student hiking club colloquially named after the Granada Hills High mascot, a Highlander. We hike a new trail every hike with the intent of exposing members to the wilderness that is in our own backyard.

I volunteer at Porter Ranch Community School working with Elementary and Middle School age kids in the after-school program. Every week I design a new lesson and activity to teach the kids about good conservation habits.

I volunteer with the non-profit organization TreePeople planting new trees, weeding non-native plants, and educating people on how to preserve Southern California's natural ecosystems.
